About the event

A group workshop for anyone interested in applying to drama school, aimed at people aged 16 and over.

Drama school auditions are nerve-wracking and there's a lot to prepare. This workshop will guide you through the process of auditioning, what kind of speeches and songs to choose, what to avoid and the common mistakes.

Do your research, prepare well and come and work with like-minded auditionees in a workshop setting. We will work through speeches and songs together, learning as we go.

Ben is a professional actor, trained at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama. He works with "Central" as a visiting lecturer and sits on the audition panels for BA Hons Acting: Musical Theatre. He has worked as an actor, singer and voiceover extensively and has led workshops throughout the UK and US.

Tickets

  • Workshop Participant

You'll need to prepare at least one speech and one song. You may be called on to work on your choices within the group, but don't worry - this is a safe space workshop where everyone will be supportive. I promise you'll learn something, improve your speeches/songs and enter the audition room with more confidence.

    £17.50

  • Spectator

This option is for people interested in the process of auditioning for drama school, but who might not want to become professional actors. This ticket does not allow for any participation in the workshop, other than as a spectator. You would be expected to be silent throughout and very supportive of the participants.
